Location: San Bernardino National Forest, Western Big Bear Valley area.
Date of Fire Start: September 14, 2007
Cause: Under investigation
Acres burned: 14,039
Percent Contained: 86%
Cooperating Agencies: CAL FIRE, San Bernardino County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office, Big Bear City, Big Bear City Fire Department, Big Bear Lake Fire Department and CalTrans.
Fire Status: Yesterday, fire behavior was moderate with no movement outside of current containment lines. Overnight crews made good progress. A low pressure trough is expected to move in this afternoon with strong winds predicted.
Today's Actions: Crews will continue to work towards 100% containment and reinforcing existing fire lines in anticipation of high winds predicted for this afternoon. Rehabilitation and mop-up along the fire's perimeter will also continue today.

Road Closures: Highway 18 is closed between Running Springs and Big Bear Lake Dam.
Use Hwy 38 as an alternate.
