Canadian Firefighters Help Fight Montana Blazes

Sixty Type I firefighters from Canada have come to Missoula, MT to assist with fire suppression efforts. Forty of the firefighters were dispatched to the Black Cat Fire and the remaining 20 to the Sawmill Complex.
Saskatchewan crews are compiled of members from all over the province. Individuals came from La Ronge, Lo Loche, Buffalo Narrows, Lower Fishing Lakes, Hudson Bay, Prince Albert, Green Lake, and Cypress Hills. These crews are highly trained and experienced. They are led by members with 15 - 25 years of firefighting experience.
Canadian Type I crews have been utilized in the United States on many previous occasions in Montana, Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and California.
