Fire Area Access is Still Restricted for Public Safety

Gray's Creek Fire Update Total: 24,900 acres, 100% contained

The Gray's Creek Fire is now contained. To protect public safety, an area closure remains in effect as interior burning continues. Several roads are still closed and staffed roadblocks are in place. Members of the public are advised they will not be allowed to enter the closure area until the fire perimeter is secured and the closure lifted by the Forest Service.

Chief Parrish Fire Update Total: 3,690 acres, 100% contained

The Chief Parrish Fire (south of Banks) is also fully contained. Normal traffic flow has been restored to Highway 55 between Horseshoe Bend and Banks, with two lanes open and no restrictions. The Porter Road closure has been lifted and is no longer restricted for public use. Those traveling Highway 55 are encouraged to use caution as smoke, rolling debris, and crews may still be in the area. This will be the last report unless changes occur.

Cascade Complex Update Total: 286,205 acres, 30% contained

The Level 3 Mandatory Evacuation for Yellow Pine, Johnson Creek, and Warm Lake residents remains in place and Warm Lake, South Fork, Landmark, and Lick Creek Roads are closed. Burning conditions are allowing firefighters to take a more direct approach in managing fire. Idaho Power has energized power lines into the area, but short-term outages may occur as they respond to ongoing fire related repair needs.

Resources: 912 personnel, 22 crews, 9 aircraft, 43 engines
