Yesterdays Fire Activity
--The weather was much cooler and the sky was mainly cloud covered for most of the day. Relative humidity remained high and the inversion helped to minimize fire activity on most of the complex.
--There was no appreciable movement on the southeast corner of the Zena-Loon fire today. It remains on the ridge above Reegan Creek west of the Eurigan Ranch.
--Yellow Pine remains in a Level 2 evacuation status and residents are still advised to be prepared for the possibility of a higher level evacuation. Only property owners in Yellow Pine, Big Creek and Johnson Creek will be allowed to access their property.
--The fire in the Profile Creek area moved slowly north/northeast. Helicopters were used to deliver water drops to control its spread.
--The Johnson Creek area continues to have fire on the eastern ridge and is backing slowly to the west. Little fire activity was evident. Suppression resources continue to strengthen point protection areas and prepare for contingency actions.
--The burnout which occurred yesterday at Landmark was very successful. Crews focused on mopup operations and hazard reduction in order to secure the area.
--The Deadwood group continued to finish a piece of line in the Sixteen to One Creek area and remained there through the night to complete it tomorrow.
--Forces in the Warm Lake and Paradise areas continue to mop up a 300' foot standard. Work also included; clearing hazard trees from area roadways and beginning rehabilitation of dozer lines in the area. This area is still closed to all but fire personnel.
--A group has been assigned to secure a small hot area on the west side of the former North Fork Fire.
--Crews continued to remove snags along secondary roads.
--Night shift patrolled in Yellow Pine, Landmark and Warm Lake areas for structure protection.
Today's Planned Activity
---Crews will continue to take action on identified point protection objectives at Yellow Pine, Johnson Creek, Warm Lake, Stolle Meadows, Paradise Valley and Landmark.
---Progress is being made to open routes and remove snags.
