Extremely Dry Forests Accelerate Fires Across Idaho

Boise, ID - Idaho's extremely dry forests are not expected to receive needed rainfall in the near future. High winds, dry lightning and above normal temperatures are adding to the severity of wildfire conditions across the state. Inaccessible and rugged mountain terrain adds to the complexity of fighting these wildfires that have burned over a half-million acres this year. The end of Idaho's wildfire season is predicted to be as late as November. Every person is encouraged to engage in responsible recreation, protecting your safety, the safety of others, and the resources you enjoy. Check current conditions and restrictions before beginning your adventure!
