FIRE SITUATION:

A spike camp has been established near the western and northern lines. Crews, personal gear, and equipment have been shuttled in by helicopter. Establishing this spike camp has reduced the amount of time firefighters need to travel to the work areas. Mop-up will continue for the next two days along these very steep flanks and then the hose, pumps, and other equipment will be pulled and flown out by helicopter. Constructed lines will be rehabilitated by water barring and placing limbs and slash onto fire lines. Areas in streams where small dams and dikes were built so water could be pumped for mop-up activities will be rehabilitated. Stream crossing will also be rehabilitated. The east and south flanks remain in patrol status with the last of rehabilitation of lines occurring on the south flank. As the fire becomes contained and resources become surplus, they will be demobilized for reassignment to other fires or returned home.

CLOSURES:

The temporary flight restriction over the fire remains in effect at a 5 mile radius and 2000' above ground level.

The following areas, trails, and campgrounds remain closed:

WEATHER:

Moist air aloft will continue today with a weak disturbance bringing some light rainfall to the fire area this morning. Once the disturbance exits, sun breaks will develop this afternoon with a little warming and drying compared to Friday. However, weather conditions today will continue to be cooler and more humid than normal this time of year. The forecast calls for cloudy in the morning with sun breaks developing in the afternoon with maximum temperatures of 72-76 degrees, humidity 36-40%, winds southeast 3-5 mph in the morning and becoming west-northwest 5-7 mph this afternoon with gusts 14-18 mph.
