Fire At A Glance
The Northwest Oregon Interagency Incident Management Team will be leaving Seneca today. Incident Commander Carl West turned the Calamity Complex over this morning to a Type 3 Team led by Dennis Klein. Klein's team of more than 75 firefighters will be working on the fires for the next several days and will be based out of Grant High School in John Day.
Using precise aerial GPS mapping, the following acreages for the five fires in the Complex were determined:
Poison Fire -- 1276 acres
Grapple Fire - 993 acres
Fire 7176 - 4 acres
Fire 7162 - 2 acres
Fire 7169 - 1 acre
A total of 2276 acres burned prior to containment of the fires.
The Northwest Oregon team appreciates the warm reception extended by the community of Seneca. This is the first time the historic Seneca School has been used as an Incident Command Post.
