June Fire 100% Contained

At 7:00 Wednesday evening the June Fire was declared 100% contained at 680 acres.

The June Fire, which burned north of the June Lake Junction on both sides of US 395, was ignited by lightning on Tuesday July 10.

176 people remain assigned to the June Fire and tonight they are engaged in mop up activities to ensure that the containment lines will hold.

US 395 is open in this area, however there is still a lot of fire suppression equipment on and next to the highway and motorists are asked to drive cautiously and slowly through the fire area.
