Thursday's Fire Activity: A public meeting for residents of Green, Rand and Whit Creeks was held Thursday night at the Wapiti Elementary School and over fifty people were in attendance. Residents were updated on the Citadel Fire's current status, suppression plans and expected fire behavior.
Crews took advantage of favorable weather and made significant progress on the fire's northeast flank by tying control lines together. Today for the first time two heavy helicopters were utilized to extinguish interior spot fires and tree flare ups. Crews continue to hold and monitor control lines on the southern side of the fire.
