Incident: Angora Wildland Fire

Location: South of Lake Tahoe and East of Fallen Leaf Lake

Resources Available: 13 Hand Crews, 33 Engines, 2 Helicopters, 6 Water Tenders,
2 Camp Crews, 227 Overhead
Total Personnel: 698 Persons
Fire Activity:
Fire activity is predicted to be light today. Winds will range from 5 to10 mph with temperatures in the mid-seventies.
Today's Actions:
Crews will continue to use infrared technology to monitor and secure firelines. Line improvement and mop up activities will continue to be completed 400 feet interior of the line and snags felled 600 feet interior of the line. Fire resources will continue to rehabilitate areas impacted by the fire suppression efforts. A Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) Team will arrive tomorrow to coordinate the rehabilitation efforts.
Evacuations, Closures and Restrictions:
As of 6:00 pm today the road blocks will be lifted at the intersection of Lake Tahoe Blvd and Sawmill Road, and Upper Truckee Road. Angora Ridge Road will continue to be closed to all traffic.
Due to very dry fuels fire restrictions have gone into effect throughout the state of California. A National Fire Prevention Team will arrive tomorrow to assist local agencies with their Prevention needs.
Within the Tahoe Basin area, campfires are only allowed within hosted fee campgrounds. No open fires or charcoal barbeques will be allowed on public lands, only propane is allowed with a 2007 fire permit. No Fireworks are allowed in any area.
