This will be the final update issued by the California Interagency Incident Management Team 4 for the Ralston Fire. DATE OF FIRE START: September 5, 2006 LOCATION: Mosquito Ridge Road east of Foresthill California in the Tahoe and Eldorado National Forests CURRENT TOTAL ACRES: 8423 PERCENT CONTAINED: 100% RESOURCES PROTECTED: 290 residences, 200 outbuildings, Communities of Foresthill, Baker Ridge, Michigan Bluff, and Volcanoville. Private timberland, valuable watersheds and the proposed Rubicon Wild and Scenic River Area. COST: $13,100,000 PERSONNEL ASSIGNED: 400 personnel CAUSE: Under Investigation VEGETATION INVOLVED: Brush and Timber WEATHER CONDITIONS: Sunny. Temperature: 79-89. Relative humidity: 20-35% Winds: South 10mph FIRE ACTIVITY: Minimal fire behavior was observed overnight. Smoldering and some burning within containment lines were reported. INJURIES AS OF TODAY: 5 minor AREAS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC: Mosquito Ridge Road (Forest Road 96) is closed from the Foresthill Road to Robinson Flat Road (Forest Road 43). Blacksmith Flat Road (Forest Road 23) is closed from Mosquito Ridge Road to Ramsy Crossing. Ralston Ridge Road (Forest Road 25) is closed from Blacksmith Flat Road to French House. TODAY S ACTIONS: Crews will continue with extinguishing hot spots along containment lines. Rehabilitation of the burn area will be ongoing. SPECIAL INFORMATION: The Placer County Water Agency and PG&E continue to assess and repair damage to equipment and infrastructure in the fire area. These efforts are in cooperation with the Incident Management Team.
