Incident: Trailhead Fire

9:45 PM MST The Trailhead Fire, burning south and west of Stanley, Idaho is estimated to be 3,000 acres in size and rapidly growing.
It is approximately 4 1/2 miles from Stanley Lake and has spotted into the upper end of Iron Creek and Crooked Creek.
Custer County Sheriff's Department has evacuated the Iron Creek Trailhead and Campground. The Stanley Lake Campgrounds and surrounding dispersed camping areas will be evacuated by 9:00 AM Thursday morning. The Sheriff's Department is also contacting residents of Iron Creek, Job Creek and Crooked Creek regarding potential evacuations.
Structure protection fire engines have been ordered and a number are in place at the Iron Creek Subdivision. Additional engines are enroute.
A Type I Fire Overhead Team has been ordered and will arrive tomorrow afternoon.
The Forest Service will issue a new closure order tomorrow morning closing a large area surrounding the fire to public entry.
Winds in the fire area were so strong this afternoon that attempts to observe the fire from the air were foregone.
