General InformationThe Gunbarrel Fire is under the management of Paul Broyles' Great Basin National Incident Management Team. The Incident Command Post is located at Buffalo Bill State Park. The Gunbarrel Fire is currently burning on lands administered by the Shoshone National Forest.
Yesterday's Activity
Fire activity was moderate with little perimeter growth. The most active areas of the fire are in the Trout Creek, Jim Creek, and Gunnysack Creek Drainages. The northeastern section of the fire has advanced to near the Robbers' Roost Creek Drainage and is still several miles from the Rattlesnake Drainage. Crews continued structure protection measures along the North Fork Shoshone River Corridor and made preparations for additional protection on other areas of the fire. A successful burnout operation was conducted near the Goff Creek Lodge.
Today's Planned Activity
Crews will continue structure protection in several areas of the fire as needed. Helicopter support will aid their efforts as wind conditions permit. Crews will also finish burning out the remaining fuels along the fire perimeter between Elephant Head and Goff Creek Lodges.

Closures/Advisories/Evacuations
There are no evacuation advisories associated with the fire at this time. The North Fork Corridor Road from Cody to Yellowstone (Highways 14-16-20) is open. All business along the road have resumed normal operations. Call specific business for more details. The closure area on the Shoshone National Forest extends from the Sweetwater Drainage to the forest boundary and north almost to Chief Joseph Scenic Byway.
