Fire Advisory Given for Elephant Head Lodge
The Gunbarrel fire is active in the area within about a mile north and west of Elephant Head Lodge. The main fire is creating multiple spot fires. Therefore the people at Elephant Head Lodge, including guests and staff, have been advised that it is possible they will be evacuated in the next 6 to 18 hours.
· This is not an evacuation notice. However there is the possibility that rapid fire spread could make evacuation necessary.
· The few people immediately affected are advised that within the next few hours they should move any people with special needs and any animals currently at the Lodge.
A hotshot crew and several fire engines are working in the area. Over half a dozen experienced firefighters are in the immediate vicinity of Elephant Head Lodge, with the affected guests and staff.
