July 20, 2008 Fire Update
Incident: Cold Springs Wildland Fire
Released: 7/20/2008
FIRE ACTIVITY SUMMARY: Acreage is currently at 7956 with 60% containment. Saturday's burnout of interior islands of fuel was successful. Preparations continue for additional burnouts of interior fuels in the north. A smoke column may be visible when this burnout occurs and does not indicate fire growth. Crews continue to mop up. Due to the amount of dead and down fuels, terrain, and density of fuels mop up will be arduous. Crews have maintained a high standard of safety with no serious injuries to date.
