FIRE ACTIVITY SUMMARY
Within the fire perimeter isolated torching, creeping, and smoldering continued with low intensity surface fires. No significant runs occurred. Acreage is currently at 7933 with 30% containment.

TODAY'S ACTIONS: Good progress was made in all divisions today. Mop up is slow and arduous. Snags continue to be a concern for firefighting personnel. Crews continue direct line construction in all divisions. One mile of line building remains to establish a perimeter around the fire.

WEATHER: Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 70's with moderate relative humidities through Friday. Warmer, drier weather will return this weekend as an upper level ridge builds over the area and will persist into next week.

NEW CLOSURES: Order No. 06-03-03-08-01 Special Area Closure on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The following campgrounds are closed: Cold Springs, Morrison, Mt Adams, and Horse Camp.

Yakama Reservation closures include: Mirror Lake, Bird Lake, and Bench Lake Campgrounds.

Road Closures include FS 80, 82, 8040 east of the 23 at the forest boundary. Trails now closed include: Stagman Ridge, Salt Creek, Buck Creek, Cold Springs (South Climb), Crofton Ridge, Morrison, Snipes Mountain. For more information, please contact 509.395.3402. State of Washington Department of Natural Resources campground closures include: Bird Creek and Island.

TROUT LAKE COMMUNITY Trout Lake is open with clear skies. Summer events continue as planned: The Festival of the Arts (July 19 and 20) , Summer Saturday Market,(July 19) and Trout Lake Fair (Aug. 1-3).

COOPERATING AGENCIES: USDA Forest Service, Yakama Nation, Yakama BIA, Washington Department of Natural Resources, Yakima and Klickitat County Sheriff's Office. Hancock Forest Management has contributed significantly in cooperation with the Department of Natural Resources for suppression on industrial forest lands.
