LOCATION: The Rattlesnake Point Complex fires are located in the Okanogan Valley and on the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. The four fires consist of the Rattlesnake Point fire 10 miles SW of Okanogan. The Jackass Butte, Coyote Creek and the Kartar Valley fires are located on the Colville Reservation.

VEGETATION TYPE AND TERRAIN: The fires are burning in scattered timber, sagebrush and rangeland in steep, rocky terrain.

FIRE SITUATION: A total of 2,625 acres were burned on the Rattlesnake Point Complex. Control lines will be completed on all fires by the end of shift today with most of the fires reaching full containment. Minimal fire activity is expected and limited to residual hot spots well within the interior of the fires. Rattlesnake Point Fire - 741 acres. Kartar Valley & Double Shot East/West Fires - 88 acres. Coyote Creek Fire - 36 acres. Jackass Butte Fire - 1,766 acres.

The Washington Incident Management Team 2 has completed their work and a Type 3 Team will begin managing the Rattlesnake Point Complex taking command on Monday morning, July 7. The two teams are coordinating suppression plans for a smooth and seamless transition.

All injuries reported on these fires have been minor in nature. Public and firefighter safety has been the top priority. With the cooperation provided by local residents and surrounding areas, the Team was able to concentrate on suppression efforts efficiently. Members of the Washington Incident Management Team 2 would like to thank the public for their patience and support during the fire situation.
