Acres: 8,652 Percentage Contained: 100%

Size: The complex contains four fires: (1) Mill Fire 3043 acres, 100% contained; (2) Monkey Rock Fire 1829 acres, 100% contained; (3) Big Fire 2193 acres, 100% contained; (4) Back Fire 1567 acres, 100% contained.

Current Situation:

Southern California Interagency Incident Management Team #3 will be returning the Soda Complex to the Mendocino National Forest to be managed again by the Upper Lake Ranger District on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 8:00am. Crews will continue to work to finalize the mop operations and continue fire suppression repair efforts where required. Firefighters will continue to monitor and work the fire for several more days. Some smoke from the interior of the fire area may be seen for a period of time, but should not threaten the containment lines. The Monkey Rock Fire, the Big and the Back Fires will continue to be patrolled by air. Further information regarding forest road closures should be directed to the Upper Lake Ranger District at (707) 275-2361.
