Trigo Fire Update 5.06.2008 10:30am

Incident: Trigo Fire Wildland Fire
Released: 5/6/2008

Yesterday, fire crews reinforced the northeast containment line. Firing activities to reduce unburnt vegetation were successful. Visible smoke columns in the area caused some concern for the returning residents.

It is anticipated that residents of the Sherwood Forest Community will be allowed to return soon.

Evacuees of Tajique, Torreon, and Ten Pines returned on Sunday. With that in mind, everyone is reminded to use caution when driving in the area. Firefighters are still engaged and firefighting apparatus is still on the roads.

Hand crews will continue heavy mop up. Helicopters will continue to assist to cool down hotspots.
