Size: The complex contains four fires and they are listed in priority: (1) Mill Fire 3043 acres, 95% contained, est containment 7/26/2008; (2) Monkey Rock Fire 1829 acres, 100% contained; (3) Big Fire 2193 acres, 100% contained; (4) Back Fire 1567 acres, 100% contained.

Current Situation:

Southern California Incident Management Team #3 remains in command of the Soda Complex. SCIIMT 3 will transition to a Type 3 organization from the Mendocino National Forest on 7-28-08. Yesterday saw the following events: (1) Mill Fire: firefighters continued to strengthen containment lines and mop up areas adjacent to the fireline. The steep terrain, lack of access and long travel times from the spike camps has prolonged the time needed to accomplish these actions. Fire suppression repair work continues on numerous portions of the fireline. Some smoke from the interior of the fire area may be seen for a long period of time, but should not threaten the containment lines. Excess crews and equipment continue to be released to assist in other firefighting efforts in California. (2) The Monkey Rock Fire, the Big and the Back Fires will continue to be patrolled by air.

Special Concerns:

The Sanhedrin Wilderness remains closed and the southern portion of the Yuki Wilderness in the Upper Lake Ranger District also remains closed.
