LAST UPDATE FOR TWO TOP FIRE
CLOSURES & OTHER INFORMATION: Closure lifted—National Forest lands in the Hebgen Lake Ranger District that were closed due to the Two Top Fire are open as of 8 a.m. Tuesday morning September 10 2013.
FIRE NAME: Two Top Fire DATE OF DETECTION: Friday August 30 2013 CAUSE: Lightning CURRENT SIZE: 148 acres CONTAINMENT: 95 % LOCATION: The fire area is located on the Continental Divide northwest of Reas Pass. It is approximately 8 air miles from the town of West Yellowstone. AGENCY: Gallatin National Forest and Caribou-Targhee National Forest
FIRE ACTIVITIES: The Hebgen Lake Ranger District took back the command of the fire Monday morning. The remaining crews and other resources will be leaving over the next several days as full containment is reached and rehabilitation is finished. Efforts are still underway to rehabilitate fire lines and prevent future erosion as well as clear fallen trees on trails and roads.
