Fire Name: Patch Springs Fire
Start Date: August 10, 2013
Location: Stansbury Mountains - 2 miles NW of Terra, UT
Jurisdiction: Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Skull Valley Indian Reservation, State, and private lands.
Fire Size: 31,010 Acres
Fire Behavior: Smoldering, single tree torching, creeping and isolated interior island burning.
Closures: Clover Springs Campground is now open. Please leave room around the water tank so fire personnel can remove it safely within the next few days.
Structures: 5 residences destroyed, 1 residence damaged, 8 outbuildings destroyed, 1 commercial property destroyed. The change of numbers is due to a more accurate count after the area was reopened.
Percent Contained: 88%. Containment is expected on 8/24/13.
Fuels: The fire is burning in juniper, sage brush, and short grass with timber stringers on the north slopes at higher elevations
Fire Crews/Resources: 2 handcrews, 1 helicopters, and 2 engines. Total Personnel 45
Evacuations: No evacuations are in place
Injuries: 3 heat related illnesses
Clover Springs Campground is now open. However, a large water tank remains in the campground. Campers are asked to leave room around the tank so that fire personnel can remove it safely in within the next few days. The fire is 88% contained and received moisture last night. Interior burning will continue in timber stringers and will continue to burn until fuels are consumed or significant precipitation occurs. Fire resources will continue to patrol, secure, and mop-up fireline.
