Nimrod Fire Evening Update

Location: East of Missoula, near Clinton and Bearmouth Area, north of Interstate 90
Started: August 15, 2013 around 6:00 pm
Size: 200-300 acres
Narrative: The fire was first reported tonight at 6:00pm and is located east of Missoula, near Clinton and the Bearmouth Area, north of Interstate 90 near mile marker 135. The fire is named the Nimrod Fire, approximately 200-300 acres and the cause of the fire is unknown.
Fire activity has diminished as the sun went down this evening. Firefighters will work through the night to try and put in containment lines where possible.
Additional resources have been ordered including more aircraft for tomorrow morning, multiple engines and 1 dozer. A 20 person hand crew from Deer Lodge will work the fire through the night.
Currently firefighters and engines from Missoula Rural Fire Department, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation Southwestern Land Office (DNRC), Clinton Fire Department, and US Forest Service are on the scene. Air resources include: 2 medium helicopters; 1 heavy helicopter; 1 single engine air tanker and air attack.
Local area residents and travelers on Interstate 90 are asked to not park alongside of the road for safety and to reduce the chances of starting a fire. Even pulling off the road to watch the fire could ignite tinder-dry grasses under your vehicle.
