Cooperating Agencies: PlacerCounty Sheriff’s Department,PlacerCounty, Placer County Water Agency, CHP,ForesthillSchool, Foresthill Fire Department.
Fire Status: Crews continue to mop up on the west side of the fire to sufficient depth to prevent any fire from crossing established containment lines. On the north and north-east edge, fire crews continue to hold and improve containment lines and prepare for firing operations if needed. Efforts to contain the fire along the more difficult steep and hazardous terrain on the east and south-east perimeters continues with crews using direct fire attack methods where possible. Roll out of burning material remains a concern. Today aircraft were able to support crews on the ground on the east side of the fire.
The fire is established in Antoine, Manilla andScewraugerCanyonsand below the Barny Cavanah Ridge. Consumption of heavy fuels will continue to contribute to smoke in surrounding areas.
A RedFlag Warning for thunderstorms remains in effect until 11:00 pm tonight.
Area residents should be aware that increased smoke may be experienced. This is due to smoke drifting from the Rim Fire, which is currently burning on the Stanislaus NationalForest. For satellite feed on area smoke go to: http://northcasmoke.blogspot.com.

Structures Destroyed: 4 structures have been destroyed by the American Fire.
Closure Update: Mosquito Ridge Rd (FSR 96) is closed from the junction of Ralston Ridge Rd to the junction of FSR 23, west of French Meadows Reservoir. Foresthill Rd is closed from FSR 66 to Robinson Flat Campround and Forest Rd 43 is closed from Robinson Flat Campground toMosquito Ridge Rd.
Robinson Flat Campground and Duncan Peak Lookout remain closed.
French Meadow Reservoir and access to the Oxbow Middle ForkAmerican Rafting Launch put in remain open.
