Fire Update 8/14/13 Am
Incident: Pony Complex Wildfire
Pony Complex Fire AM Update August 14, 2013
Location: 12 miles Northeast of Mountain Home, ID
Assigned Resources: 342 personnel
Evacuations: Residents in the Mayfield area have been allowed back into their homes. The road closures listed below still remain in effect for the general public.
Closures: : Blacks Creek Rd., Indian Creek Rd., Anderson Ranch Dam south on the Dixie Creek Cutoff to Hwy 20, Prairie Road/Cow Cr. Rd north from Hwy 20, Mayfield Rd and surrounding access roads
Fire Situation: The southern and western edges of the fire are both showing very little fire activity. The dozer line along those perimeters is now being assessed for any rehabilitation work needed to reduce erosion.
Black’s Creek on the north end of the fire remains a holding point for fire managers and continues to be the most active area for smoke and flame. Crews spent most of yesterday securing line from Willow Creek down to Chicken Creek. Their work focused on limited burnout operations around structures in the drainage where their intent is to preserve as much grazing land as possible during these operations.
On the north, the fire is hemmed in by the Boise River and the Elk Complex fire area so fire activity is minimal and mostly well inside the perimeter.
