Incident: Whiskey Complex Wildfire
Everything is going according to plan so far today, according to Operations Chief Trainee Chris Hayes. Crews were burning out fuels near the lines until about 1200 noon, when the relative humidity dropped below a safe threshhold. They plan to renew burning about 7 PM when the humidity is expected to rise again. The purpose of burning out the fuels is to increase the width of the firelines and form more effective fire breaks. Lighting crews are asked to proceed very slowly and carefully so that only a little fire is introduced at a time.
