Today’s Planned Activities:
As seen yesterday, today’s fire activity should be low or moderate due to high relative humidity and the possibility of scattered precipitation around the fire area. This weather trend is expected to continue through the weekend into Tuesday when a drying trend moves into the area on Wednesday. The fire will still burn in heavy pockets of fuel and continues to burn and smolder through the area of blow-down.
Fire operations personnel on the ground will continue scouting the areas well ahead of the fire perimeter and aircraft will provide aerial surveillance of the fire. The team continues to develop potential suppression strategies to protect critical assets at risk and identify consequences of the potential loss of those assets. The team is using the input they have received from stakeholders and the community that identified assets of particular importance that may be affected by the fire. The team will continue to scout out potential water sources for the fire suppression effort, locate remote cabins where possible, identify values at risk and propose tactics for their protection.
