There has been no increase in acreage on the Silver fire since Friday. The crews that remain on the fire are concentrating on rehabilitation of dozer and hand lines and removing snags from affected roads and trails.
Priorities have now shifted from active fire suppression to rehabilitation of the burned area. The Silver Fire Baer Team members are currently evaluating the burn scar to determine the emergency to reduce flooding and erosion to downstream communities.
A public meeting is being planned for the Mimbres area residents for early next week. Date, location and time will be posted once finalized. Grant Co. Emergency manager and planning manager are planning to attend.
Open/Closed Areas: FS Road 150 is open, high clearance vehicles are recommended. NM Highway 152 is open.
