Weather Helping Fire Containment Efforts
Incident: Pole Creek Wildfire
The cooler weather system that passed through the region this weekend and last night helped firefighters on the Pole Creek Fire increase containment to 90%. Fire lines within the Three Sisters Wilderness held through the wind event associated with the cold front; no further expansion of the fire perimeter occurred. Full containment is estimated for October 20, 2012.
Remaining crews focus on securing the last 10% of fire line and work together with local resources on a full scale rehab effort. Predicted cool temperatures in the area will continue to help firefighting efforts.
