Crews Respond to Fire Near Parrish Cabin Campground

JOHN DAY, OR- John Day Interagency Dispatch official's report that fire crews from Malheur National Forest responding to a fire located in the vicinity of the Junction of Forest Roads 15 and 16, near Parish Cabin Campground.

Firefighters are in the initial stage of assessing the size of the fire and immediate needs.

Firefighters along with the Grant County Sheriffs department are evacuating Parish Cabin Campground and checking for dispersed campsites in the area. There are many bow hunters in the area for archery season, public and firefighter safety are priority number one.

The public is advised to not travel in this area as it is unsafe for them as well as firefighters, with very dynamic fire activity taking place.

To report a wildfire, call 541-575-1321 north end or 541-573-1000 on the south end of the Forest.
