Ic Pete Gordon Welcomes 2012 Az Wildfire Academy Participan

Incident: Az Wildfire and Incident Mg MT Academy Wildfire
Released: 3/10/2012

Saturday and Sunday, March 10-11, 2012 "Welcome to the 10th annual Arizona Wildfire and Incident Academy. I have been involved with the academy for several years - as a student, as an instructor, and for the third year I've had the honor of being the Academy Incident Commander. This year, we're adding a theme to celebrate our anniversary: "Always Remember the Lessons Learned." Some lessons have been born out of tragedies, but there have also been many successes over the years that we can learn from. At each morning briefing, we will introduce a different topic revolving around Lessons Learned. I challenge students and instructors to bring those topics into the classrooms. Spend a few minutes discussing what Lessons Learned means to you. My hope is that you take away a few extra stories to keep with you as you progress through your careers. Thank you for joining us at what is sure to be another successful week. I especially want to thank all of the staff, many of whom have been here since the Academy's inception, and many of whom volunteer their time to be here. They continue to bring the motivation and inspiration that make this event so successful year after year."
