Lake Drummond Re-Opens to Boaters

Lake Drummond reopens to boaters at sunrise on Saturday, October 29, 2011. Boaters must access the lake from the Dismal Swamp Canal and the Feeder Ditch. In cooperation with the Army Corps of Engineers, the boat traim at the Lake Drummond Reservation will also be reopened for use. Boaters must be aware this opening is for water access only. Access to the Interior Ditch pier and road are still restricted.
The auto tour route following Railroad Ditch Road to West Ditch Road to Interior Ditch Road remains closed due to the effects of considerable road damage. An opening date for the popular route is still undertermined.
