Dust and Ash in The Air With Wind Shift on Rock House Fire

Incident: Rock House Wildfire
Released: 5/1/2011

DUST AND ASH IN THE AIR WITH WIND SHIFT ON ROCK HOUSE FIRE

An increase in dust and ash in the air is visible from Fort Davis and the south side of the fire this afternoon. The wind shifted as predicted today, and is blowing back across the previously burned area from north to south. There is no increased fire behavior at this time. Firefighters have been working day and night shifts for the past few days, in anticipation of this cold front coming through. The perimeter line around the fire has been completed, and reinforcement work continues to widen the lines.
