Final mapping of fires within the complex reduced the acreage to 1,673. Crews continued to advance toward controlling the fire with mop-up operations. A developing Type 3 team from Boise City toured the camp looking to increase their knowledge on organizational and functional aspects of overhead teams. The camp also hosted tours for the careers class of the Horseshoe Bend school system.
Weather and Fire Behavior Forecast for Today:
The fire activity will remain in the smoldering and creeping stage. Weather will be warmer than yesterday and relative humidity lower with winds remaining about the same.
Today's Planned Actions:
Fire crews will concentrate on searching for holdover hot spots, mop-up, and rehabilitation of fire lines. By the end of the day most fires will be in a patrol and monitor status in preparation for turning the fire back to the local fire protection district on 9/4.
