Constantia Fire Now 100 Percent Contained

Incident: Constantia Complex Wildfire
Released: 7/30/2010

The 1,369 acre Constantia Fire near Doyle, California is now 100 percent contained. Even though this fire is not actively burning, today firefighters will continue rehabilitating fire and dozer lines that were created to contain the fire. Operations Section Chief Dave Koch said, "Residents should be aware that they may see an occasional smoke within the interior of the fire, but we put out enough fire around the edge so it can't escape."

Transition from Kidd's Type 2 Incident Command Team back to the BLM Carson City District Office will occur at 8 p.m. tonight. A Type 3 Incident Command Team will then assume management of the fire.

Six hand crews, four engines, one dozer and two helicopters are currently providing support for the incident. Beginning tomorrow, resources will be three engines, one crew and one helicopter.

This will be the last update unless significant new fire activity occurs.
