Constantia Fire Now 73 Percent Contained

The two fires making up the 1,369 acre Constantia Complex are 73 percent contained as of this evening. The main fire has been mapped at 1,288 acres and the smaller fire is mapped at 81 acres.

Firefighters continue mop-up efforts. The main fire has been mopped-up 400 feet within the fire perimeter and the other, smaller fire has been mopped-up 300 feet inside from the containment line. Dozer lines are also being rehabilitated.

Twelve hand crews, seven engines, one dozer, three water tenders, seven helicopters and air attack continue to provide support for the incident. A total of 452 firefighters are assigned to this incident. Air tankers remain available in the area, should they be needed.

Residents are reminded to remain cautious when enjoying the outdoors as the weather is forecasted to remain hot and dry.

Agencies providing resources include Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Cal Fire, California Highway Patrol, Bureau of Indian Affairs, National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Lassen County as well as private contractors.
