Eagle Rock Fire Update

Incident: Eagle Rock Wildfire

WILLIAMS, Ariz. - Kaibab National Forest fire crews are responding to a new fire located 11 miles northeast of Williams and east of Sitgreaves Mountain. The Eagle Rock Fire was detected by the Kendrick Mountain lookout this morning. It is approximately 200 acres. The cause is unknown. Fire behavior is reported as running, torching and spotting. At this time residences in the Spring Valley area are considered threatened, but an evacuation has not been ordered. Resources responding to the fire include a Incident Management Team, 5 engines, 4 air tankers, 1 dozer, 2 regular crews, 1 interagency Hotshot Crew, 2 water tenders. The fire is moving in a northeasterly direction. There is a red flag warning in effect today. Winds are predicted at 20 to 30 miles miles per hour.
