Rosilda Fire Southeast of Williams, Az

WILLIAMS, Ariz. - A fire approximately 9 miles southeast of Williams, was discovered Thursday afternoon at approximately 2:00 p.m. A column of smoke was readily visible from Interstate 40, Williams, and other nearby locales. A helicopter from the Grand Canyon National Park responded to the Rosilda Fire and began making water drops with its bucket, which helped slow the progress. Five engines and 20 fire personnel also responded to the Rosilda Fire. Between the helicopter and the crews working on the ground, the fire has been held in check at approximately forty-two acres.

A 20-person fire crew from Winslow is enroute to assist with controlling the fire. Cause of this incident is under investigation.
