MacDonald Pass Fire Update

This will be the last daily update unless fire activity changes.

Location: 8 Miles Southwest of Helena, MT.

Current Size: 170 acres.

Resources Assigned: Personnel: 39

Current Status: The fire is 100% contained. The fire has received approximately .75 inches of precipitation. The local Type 3 Organization has taken over management of the incident.

Today's Planned Actions: Patrol and monitor fire.

Weather: Today partly sunny skies with winds from the W at 10-20 miles per hour. Temperatures, 43-53 degrees. Relative humidity 37-47%. A series of weather systems are forecasted to pass through the area over the next week.

Cooperating Agencies: Baxendale Volunteer Fire Department, Helena National Forest, Bureau of Indian Affairs, City of Helena and Lewis and Clark County.

Fuel/Fire Mitigation Suggestions: Homeowners are encouraged to clear debris, excess brush and duff away from their homes to create "defensible space." More "defensible space" information can be found on www.firewise.org.
