Incident: Bielenburg Fire Wildfire

Beilenburg Fire on 7/21 at 10 A.M.

An Incident Management Team under the direction of Jess Secrest took over management operations of the Bielenburg Fire Tuesday morning.

The primary objective is to keep the fire north of Racetrack Creek and keep it from moving south and east onto private land.

Resources Assigned: Approximately 150 firefighters including three "hot shot" crews from Montana.

Hot-shot crews are highly trained firefighters given the most arduous assignments. Other resources include a prison inmate crew, and two initial attack modules from the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest.

Two helicopters and three fire engines are assigned for suppression efforts.

Closure Information: An area closure continues to remain in effect for the Bielenburg Road #5147 and Racetrack Road #169 on the Pintler Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. The Racetrack Campground is located on the Racetrack Road as is the Racetrack Rental Cabin. Both drainages are under emergency closures and were evacuated.
