SHASTA-TRINITY NATIONAL FOREST
TEMPORARY CLOSURE--See map at the "images" section
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b), and to protect natural resources and provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the Big Bar Ranger District on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. This Order is effective from July 10, 2009 through October 1, 2009.
Being on the following National Forest System trails within the New River Drainage, listed below and shown on the attached map.
·a. Virgin Creek Trail (Forest Trail No. 7E03).
·b. Soldier Creek Trail (Forest Trail No. 7E01).
·c. Lipps Camp Trail (Forest Trail No. 6E01).
·d. Devils Backbone Trail (Forest Trail No. 12W02).
·e. Salmon Summit Trail (Forest Trail No. 12W02) from its intersection with the Devils Backbone Trail, then east to its intersection with the Battle Creek Trail (Forest Trail No. 8E19).
36 CFR 261.55(a).
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1. Any Federal, State or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
2. Persons with a valid permit from the Forest Service specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.

A violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.
