LOS PADRES NATIONAL FOREST
EMERGENCY CLOSURE ORDER
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the Los Padres National Forest. This Order is effective from May 12, 2009, until the Jesusita Fire has been suppressed.
- Going into or being upon National Forest System lands within the Jesusita Fire Closure Area. The Jesusita Fire Closure Area begins at the point where State Highway 154 intersects with the Los Padres National Forest Congressional Boundary in Section 35, Township 4 North, Range 28 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, then west following the Congressional Boundary to its intersection with Refugio Road (Forest Road No. 5N19), then north along the east side of Refugio Road to its intersection with West Camino Cielo (Forest Road No. 5N19), then east along the south side of West Camino Cielo to the locked gate at Broadcast Peak, then east along the north side of West Camino Cielo to the locked gate at Winchester Canyon Gun Club, then east along the south side of West Camino Cielo to its intersection with State Highway 154, then north along State Highway 154 to its intersection with East Camino Cielo (Forest Road No. 5N12), then east along the north side of East Camino Cielo to its intersection with Cold Springs Trail (Forest Trail No. 26W10), then south along the east side of Cold Springs trail to its intersection with the Congressional Boundary, then west along the Congressional Boundary to the point of beginning, as shown on the attached Map.

- Being on any National Forest System road within the Jesusita Fire Closure Area. 36 CFR 261.54(e).
- Being on any National Forest System trail within the Jesusita Fire Closure Area. 36 CFR 261.55(a).
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
- Persons with a permit from the Forest Service specifically authorizing the otherwise
prohibited act or omission. - Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
- Owners or lessees of private land within the Jesusita Fire Closure Area are exempt from the prohibitions listed above to the extent necessary to gain access to their land.
- Persons who reside on private land within the Jesusita Fire Closure Area are exempt from the prohibitions listed above to the extent necessary to gain access to their residences.
These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.

A violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months or both. 16 USC 551 and 18 USC 3559, 3571, and 3581.
