Alternate Route to Crater Lake National Park

Alternate Route advised for traveling to Crater Lake National Park and Diamond Lake

State Highway 138 is closed to through traffic at mileposts 44 and 59. People traveling from I-5 to Crater Lake or Diamond Lake are advised to take the Gold Hill exit between Grants Pass and Medford. Travel on SR 234 to SR 62 to Union Creek for the south entrance to Crater Lake National Park. To reach the north entrace to the national park or Diamond Lake, take SR 230 at Union Creek.

Travelers coming south on I-5 are advised to take the SR 58 exit just south of Eugene to US Route 97. Turn off USR 97 on to SR 138 to reach both Diamond Lake and the north entrance to Crater Lake National Park.
