EMERGENCY CLOSURE - FIRE

ROGUE RIVER-SISKIYOU NATIONAL FOREST

Pursuant to Title 36 CFR Part 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited within the boundaries of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest and the Fremont-Winema National Forest, as described in this order and attached map to provide for public health and safety due to active fire and extreme fire conditions in the area until rescinded.

1. Being on a trail. [36 CFR 261.55(a)]

-Trail #979 (Alta Lake Trail), the entire length.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.33S, R.4E, Section 13; T.33S, R.5E, Sections 17, 18, 20, and 21, 28, and 33; T.34S, R.5E, Section 4.

-Trail #1084 (Tom and Jerry Trail), the entire length.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.32S, R.4E, Section 25; T.32S, R.5E, Sections 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, and 34.

-Trail #1088 (Halifax Creek Trail), the entire length.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.33S, R.5E, Sections 3, 4, and 9.

-Trail #1085 (Mudjekeewis Trail), the entire length.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.32S, R.5E, Sections 31, 32, and 33; and T.33S, R5E, Sections 4 and 5.

-Trail #1089 (McKie Camp Trail), the entire length.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.32S, R.5E, Sections 26, 27, and 34; T.33S, R.5E, Sections 3, 10, 11, and 12.

-Trail #1087 (Geyser Spring Trail) from the trailhead located on Forest Road 300 to its terminus on the Middle Fork of the Rogue River.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.33S, R.4E, Sections 2 and 3.

-Trail #1078 (Stuart Falls Trail), from its junction with the Trail #2000 (PACIFIC CREST TRAIL) to its junction with the Crater Lake National Park Boundary.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.32S, R.5E, Sections 10, 15, 22, 23, and 26.

-Trail #1083 (Lucky Camp Trail) from its junction with Trail #1078 (Stuart Falls Trail) to its junction with Trail #1090 (Red Blanket Trail).

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.32S, R.5E, Sections 15, and 16.

-Trail #1090 (Red Blanket Trail) from the trailhead to its junction with Trail #1078).

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.32S, R.5E, Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, and 16.

-Trail #978 (Middle Fork Trail) from the trailhead to its junction with Trail #979 (Alta Lake Trail).

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.33S, R.4E, Sections 1, and 12; T.33S, R.5E sections 7, 8, 9, 16, 21, and 22.

-Trail #981 (Seven Lakes Trail) from the trailhead to its junction with Trail #2000 (PACIFIC CREST TRAIL).

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.33S, R4E, Section 36; T.33S, R.5E, Sections 27, 31, 32, 33, and 34; T.34S, R.5E, Sections 3, and 4.

-Trail #980 (King Spruce Trail) from the trailhead to its junction with Trail #979 (Alta Lake Trail).

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.33S, R.5E, Sections 28, 29, 31, and 32.

-Trail #994 (Lake Ivern Trail) from its junction with Trail #981 (Seven Lakes Trail) to its terminus at Lake Ivern.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T. 33S, R.5E, Sections 27, 28, and 34.

-Trail #984 (Devils Peak Trail) from its junction with Trail #981 (Seven Lakes Trail) to its junction with the Trail #2000 (PACIFIC CREST TRAIL).

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.34S, R.5E, Sections 3, and 4.

-Trail #1086 (Jack Springs Trail) from its junction with Trail #2000 (Pacific Crest Trail) to its terminus at Jack Springs.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.32S, R.5E, Section 35.

-Trail #Non-System (Ranger Springs Trail) from its junction with Trail #2000 (Pacific Crest Trail) to its terminus at Ranger Springs.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T.33S, R.5E, Section 24.

-Trail #2000 (Pacific Crest Trail) from its junction with Trail #984 (Devils Peak Trail) to its junction with the Crater Lake National Park Boundary.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T. 32S, R.5E, Sections 12, 13, 23, 24, 26, and 35; T. 33S, R.5E, Sections 2, 11, 12, 13, 24, 25, 26, 27, 34, and 35; T.34S, R.5E, Sections 2, and 3.

2. Being on a Forest road. [36 CFR 261.54(e)]

-All roads and spurs within the following boundaries:

On the north, FS Road 6205.200 from the Forest boundary to its terminus. On the west, FS Road 6205.200 from its intersection with Forest boundary south along boundary to FS Road 37. On the southeast, FS Road 37 to junction with FS Road 3780, continuing to intersection with Trail #981 following the Wilderness boundary north to FS Road 6205.200.

This closure excludes the immediate vicinity around Imnaha Guard Station and Campground bounded by the coral and fence and Imnaha Creek.

The legal location of the closed area is bounded within the following:

T. 32 S., R. 4 E. Sections 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36. T. 32 S., R. 5 E. Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36. T. 31 S., R. 4 E. Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 35, 36. T. 33 S., R. 5 E. Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36. T. 34. S., R. 5 E. Sections 2, 3, 4

The following additional closure will take affect on September 20, 2008.

1. Being on a trail. [36 CFR 261.55(a)]

-Trail #1070 (Varmint Camp), the entire length.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T. 32 S., R. 4 E. Section 12; T. 32 S., R.5 E., Sections 6 and 7.

-Trail #1073 (Cold Springs), the entire length.

The legal location of the closed trail is in T. 32 S., R.4E, Sections 2, 10 and 11.

2. Being on a Forest road. [36 CFR 261.54(e)]

-All roads and spurs within the following boundaries:

On the north, Hwy 62, from the west Crater Lake NP boundary, west to junction with FS Road 60. On the northwest, FS Road 60 south to FS Road 60.300 junction continuing to its intersection with the Forest boundary. On the southwest, from FS Road 60.300 along the western edge of section 34, continuing along the Forest boundary to FS Road 6205. On the south, FS Road 6205 to junction with FS Road 6205.200, continuing to it terminus.

The legal location of the closed area is bounded within the following:

T. 30 S., R. 4 E. Sections 34 and 35. T. 31 S., R. 3 E. Sections 34, 35 and 36. T. 31 S., R. 4 E. Sections 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36. T. 31 S., R. 5 E. Sections 30 and 31.T. 32 S., R. 3 E. Sections 1, 2, and 12. T. 32 S., R. 4 E. Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17,18, 19, 20, and 21. T. 32 S., R. 5 E., Sections 6 and 7.

Access permitted to current timber operations and private lands by permit.

The Forest Roads, Trails, and Area closures are as shown on the attached map.

Pursuant to 36 CFR Part 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from the Order:

·1. Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.

·2. Any Federal, State or Local Law Enforcement Officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire-fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.

This Order will become effective immediately.

Violations of these prohibitions are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or both, for each offense. [16 U.S.C. 551 and 18 U.S.C. 3559 and 3571]
