News & Events for the Rich Fire:
- The forest Closure (09-08) has been lifted effective August 27. The Pacific Crest Trail Closure (Forest Order #10-08) is now in effect. The Pacific Crest Trail is now open from State highway 70 south through the Bucks Area Wilderness. It is closed from State Highway 70, north and northwest to the Pumas-Lassen National Forests Boundary.
- Fire equipment continues to operate along highway 70. Motorists are urged to please use caution in this area. Interior burning continues to put up occasional smoke plumes from the Rich Fire. The contingency lines have been rehabilitated, but the control lines remain intact. The Fire is now in patrol status.
RICH FIRE STATUS: The 6,112 acre Rich Fire is 100% contained.
