No New Evacuations; Advisory Expanded
Residents, campers, and other people along the North Fork Highway (14-16-20) between the east border of the Shoshone National Forest and Chimney Rock are encouraged to be prepared in case any new evacuations become necessary within the next few days.
The Gunbarrel fire continues to spread eastward, at times rapidly. Two days ago an advisory was issued for the canyon corridor from Chimney Rock to Wapiti Ranger Station. People were asked to be ready to leave quickly if needed. That advisory remains in effect. It is now extended further eastward to the Forest boundary near Grizzly Ranch.
A handout is attached with recommendations for people directly affected by this advisory.
