Guests Temporarily Depart Two Lodges to Facilitate Firefighting Update: Evacuation Complete
The evacuation of Absaroka and Elephant Head Lodges is complete.
Fire has moved as far south as the north edge of Absaroka Lodge's developed area. It is slightly less than half a mile north of Elephant's Head Lodge. Firefighters are working at both locations.
By tonight fire is likely to reach the north edge of the North Fork Highway (Hwys 14 - 16 - 20) at a location between Absaroka and Elephant Head Lodges. Firefighters will be on duty in the area all night.
Firefighters worked this afternoon on structure preparations in Moss Creek, about four miles east of Absaroka Lodge. Cabin owners in Moss Creek have been invited to be escorted to their cabins for a few hours tomorrow morning.
