Incident: Piute Wildfire

07 July 2008 at 12:45 pm Update: Unexpected winds from the southeast are pushing the fire on several flanks. On the northern flank, fire is very active and the smoke is being blown towards Lake Isabella. On the western flank the fire has jumped containment lines and made a run up Brown Peak. Firefighters will attempt to hold the spread using King Solomon Ridge. Air tankers and helicopters are assisting in this effort.
