Area Closures: To protect public safety and to facilitate fire suppression efforts, the Shasta-Trinity National Forest has initiated a trail closure at Canyon Creek Trailhead, which is in the Granite Fire Closure Area. In addition, Trinity County Sherriff's office has temporarily closed Country Road 402 due to fire activity.Shasta-Trinity National Forest officials announced a closure of Forest Service System lands encompassing an area around the Cedar Fire in Trinity County. The closure is effective July 11 through Sept, 11 and includes all National Forest System roads and trails within the area. The closure does not include state highways, county roads or private lands. The Yolla Bolly-Middle Eel Wilderness and South Fork Management Unit closures remain in effect.The Cedar Fire Closure area is described as the intersection of the Trinity River and Forest Road 4N16, then continues west along, but not including the trinity River to its intersection with the Cedar Flat Bridge, then west along, but not including State Route 299 to its intersection with Forest Road 5N60, the south along Forest Road 5N60 to its intersection with Forest Road 33N47, east along Forest Road 33N47 to its intersection with Forest Road 4N16, then north along, but not including Forest Road 4N16 to the starting point.
