Public Meetings are scheduled on Saturday, June 14 in Columbia and Monday, June 16 in Manteo to provide information about the Evans Road Fire and Answer questions.
Saturday- Public Meeting
Target Audience: Residents of Columbia and other interested parties
Focus: Evans Road Fire Update-including Current situation and Projections
When: Saturday, June 14, 2008 7:00 pm
Where: Walter B Jones, Sr. Center for the Sounds (Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center) Auditorium
Coordinate with Bonnie Strawser/Howard Phillips
Directions- The facility is on south side of US 64, on the east side of the Scuppernong River and is co-located with the Partnership for the Sounds and the NC Rest area.
Monday- Trade Meeting
Target audience: Owners/Managers of businesses/attractions relating to tourism
Focus: Smoke Management and Impacts from Evans Road Fire
When: Monday, June 16, 2008 3:00 pm
Where: Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, Conference Room
One Visitors Center Circle, Manteo, NC
Located on RI at the foot of the Virginia Dare Memorial Bridge
